Work At Home, Dayton, OH

The amount of typing jobs in Dayton, Ohio doesn’t quite match the quantity of people looking for work. Even after all these years Tobias Bannerman remembers studying his mother as she sat at her typewriter in their filthy living room. She would type faster than a freight train. Tobias would walk to school hoping that his mother was safe and sound, working at home in her data entry job. He would often arrive home in the afternoon to find her unconscious on the kitchen floor with a wine glass in her hand.

“She could swallow quicker than she could type. She was a real grog monster! I would end up completing the majority of her typing jobs In order to please irate clients and, in turn, make enough money to put food in our cupboards. I work at home to this day, and I still have a data entry job. Mom left us for another family when I was twelve, leaving me to raise my nine siblings. Regrettably, the pressure was too much to bear and my brothers and sisters were eventually shuffled and dealt out to other families in Dayton.”

Tobias had his right leg surgically removed during his first year at college. His ankle never mended after a series of accidental cigar burns. The wounds festered and had to be dealt with before the infection spread. The city of Dayton recognizes a hero when it sees one and he was awarded the brown star for his efforts in business. He yearned to work at home and this, coupled with his love for typing and data entry in particular, was his ticket to freedom and a ride on the gravy train.
